In The Community

We are proud to be a Sunshine Coast firm. We have been helping local businesses and families for 30 years. Today we combine our unrivalled legal expertise with a commitment to making a difference to our community.

Every year, we contribute to numerous local charities and not-for-profit organisations. We are a major sponsor of the Wishlist Spring Gala Luncheon, Kawana Surf Club, and the Schultz Toomey O'Brien Lawyers Student Athlete Awards.

In 2011 we started an annual bike event (Quest 100 Charity Ride) to raise money for charities on the coast.  In it's inaugural year we raised over $50,000 for Cystic Fibrosis Qld.

As proud locals you will see us at a variety of events doing what we can to help the community we work in. More information on some of these events is outlined below.

Wishlist Spring Gala Luncheon 2011

In an impressive display of generosity, 550 of the Sunshine Coast’s most high profile business people raised over $100K for a worthy cause with the support of Samantha Armytage, Damien Leith and a fully charged Justice Crew on Friday, September 16. Click here to read on.

Quest 100 Charity Ride

The inaugural Quest 100 Charity Ride was held over the weekend of the 18 and 19 June 2011 and was the brainchild of Michael Callow, Partner at Schultz Toomey O'Brien Lawyers.  The idea started to take shape late in 2010 when Rick Chapman (Go Transit) and Michael participated in the Gympie to Maroochydore leg of a charity ride that stretched from Cairns to Sydney. Scott Gilbertson (who joined us on our ride) and David Bonne raised over $200,000 by cycling 3,000km in 30 days for C2C for Kids. Student Athlete Awards 2011

In 2011 we joined forces with the Sunshine Coast Daily and Hot 91.1 to put together an annual awards program to assist our sporting heroes at a school level.  They have been a huge success and in 2012 Channel 7 will be joining us a sponsor of this program.
