August Young Achiever – Juade Maguire

Thank you to Hot 91 for putting on another awesome outside broadcast for the Schultz Toomey O’Brien Lawyers, part of the Slater and Gordon Group Young Achievers Awards. Juade Maguire was the recipient of the $1000 prize for her academic and community achievements. Juade will be putting her winnings towards an end of year trip to Cambodia where she will be helping out a disadvantaged community. In order to help Juade achieve this, Principal Dr Wayne Troyahn wanted to contribute in some way so he surprised her by giving the $1000 that the school won to assist with her overseas mission. What an amazing thing to do! Congratulations Juade and we wish you all the best with your trip.

March 2015 Young Achievers – Tim & Sam Aitken hoo8hoo

hoo8hooThis morning we were at Caloundra City Private School for the Young Achievers Awards. Today we awarded brothers, Tim & Sam Aitken for their outstanding music achievements. Tim & Sam are a talented duo who write and perform their own songs as well as covers, their band is called Hoo8Hoo – Tim Aitken Sam Aitken. The boys play at many community events such as the Walk for Daniel, Wishlist Run Sunshine Coast and many more. Well done Tim & Sam! October Young Achiever – Tigi Johnson

Tigi johnsonOn Friday 7th November, we congratulated and awarded 15yr old Tigi Johnson of St John’s College Nambour for her Community Achievements. Tigi is very community focused and spends a lot of her time volunteering with fundraising for different organisations. Tigi has applied for a Rotary exchange to New Zealand in 2015 in which she hopes will provide her with more opportunities with helping others.

September Young Achiever – Lloyd Steer

IMG_5793This morning the Hot91 team hosted a live broadcast from Nambour State High School for the Schultz Toomey O’Brien Lawyers Young Achievers Awards. The winning student for September was16yr old Lloyd Steer for his music achievements. Lloyd is a self taught drummer for local rock band Led Angels and perform for charity events on the Sunshine Coast. They recently performed at the Caloundra Music Festival. Lloyd is a member of Queensland School of Performing Arts as actor/musician and assists with tech side of QSPA. Lloyd also played the lead role as Tin Man in the school musical. Congratulations and well done Lloyd!

August Young Achiever – Max Warshawsky

August Young AchieverThis morning we congratulated and awarded 17yr old Max Warshawsky of Chancellor State College for his sporting and academic achievements. Max is an outstanding downhill mountain bike rider and is part of the Junior Downhill World Cup team. Max only recently returned from the US where completed in New York and is actually leaving for Norway tomorrow to compete in the next Downhill event. July Young Achiever – Piper Hertslet

Piper HerstletLast Friday 1st August, we held our monthly Young Achievers Awards. We awarded 11 year old Piper Hertslet of Talara Primary College for her dance/performing arts achievement in Calisthenics. The outside broadcast was fantastic with plenty of fun during the morning. Iron-man Ali Day and Daniel Merritt of the Brisbane Lions assisted Ash of Hot91 with the broadcast. A great morning had by all!!

June Young Achiever – Emma Rumble

Emma RumbleThis morning we visited Sunshine Beach State High School to congratulate Emma Rumble on her musical achievements. Emma plays a number of instruments including the guitar, clarinet and also sings. She would like to attend QUT next year and study music. By being the STOLAW Young Achiever Winner, Emma was awarded $1000 which she is going to put towards a new computer to record her music.
