• CTP Insurance means that anyone injured in a car accident (where they were not at fault) will usually be entitled to rehabilitation and medical treatment that is funded by the insurer and also lump sum compensation.
• You must lodge a notice of claim within 1 month of retaining a lawyer or 9 months from the date of the accident (whichever is earlier).
• Where the vehicle is unidentified, the period is shorter.
• Any claim for lump sum compensation must be made within 3 years of the date of the accident.
• You must lodge a notice of claim quickly because any entitlement to receive rehabilitation and medical treatment funded by the insurer does not start until the notice has been given to the insurer.
